BSL uses signs that move through space to show time. These movements are called timelines. There are 4 different BSL timelines Timeline A 2 different signs over the shoulder are used to show that something happened in the past and from the shoulder to show move forward for the future. Examples: Along time ago Future Timeline B the lower arm and hand are used to indicate weeks or short Lengths of time. Example: Long time This week Timeline C Across the front Example: Next week Delay Timeline D From the floor upwards by the signer’s dominant side. Example: Children grow up quickly |
